About Me
Craft work has always been high on my agenda. From an early age I was knitting, sewing and crocheting. Then came macrame, rug making, tie dying, love-bead necklaces etc. You name it, I tried it. I was introduced to the art of quilting some 30 years ago whilst in Canada and I have been quilting ever since. Texture and colour are my drivers. After several years in the corporate world I am once more following my artistic inclination and learning as much as I can. Times and trends change. I am now combining my textile traditions with surface embellishment. I have discovered beading and can't stop making jewellery and exploring new developments in this wonderful area of art.
Beaded Jewellery
Colour and texture attract me to beads and their application in jewellery. I have a small range of items that are everyone's favourites.
Classes available
I run basic jewellery classes to get you started creatively. Earring basics, charm bracelets, wired or thread necklaces.
Also quilting classes - basic techniques or 1 and 2 day classes.
Coffee and Craft mornings - every second Tuesday (except school holidays). Please phone.
Everyday Jewellery
Colour to inspire you and make you feel good any day of the week. These items are mostly beaded using many different techniques. There is a wide and ever-changing range to choose from. View my selection at my home or yours.
Special Occasion Jewellery
Generally made for weddings or special functions. I use Swarovski Crystals and pearls in particular, and combine them with Sterling Silver wherever possible. As this is YOUR special occasion, I like to work with you to find out what will suit your occasion best.
Felted accessories
Felting wool and embellishing it with silk, beads and various threads is a wonderful creative process which guarantees a surprise when completed and ensures a unique item every time. My favourites are the "collars" which can be worn rather like a scarf. Hats and bags can also be made to go with these, or they can be worn on their own.
Textile Art
Whether it is wall art, quilts or bags, embellished by hand or machine, they are always a bit different from commercially available sister products.
